❗MIC PROBLEMS ❗
Things to check:
- Mixer
Mixer has power (cable in back and light on)
Mic volume knob turned up
- Battery Pack
Check it is charged and turns on.
Try Swapping Batteries - In body pack
- SHURE Receiver Box
Is on and has power
Make sure the box is on same channel as the mics (usually channel A1)
Experiencing interference?
Check the Mic volume on the mixer is not too high - try lowering it and moving the mic closer to your mouth.
Try disconnecting Mic from bodypack, spray and clean with contact spray and re-attach
Try swapping the batteries
Try swapping the battery pack and headset to identify if its a headset or Battery pack issue (usually headset issue)
Check for cable damage by moving the cables and see if you here interference/crackling
If still having issues, it’s possible the Mic is wet, try the other mic. Leave original Mic to dry
❗LIGHT RIDER APP NOT RESPONDING❗
In the app go into menu (Three lines top left of screen)
Check the connected interfaces
Under interfaces the DMX device “LR512” should be listed
Click LR512 to connect the app with the interface
LR512 is not listed?
Click 'refresh' and wait to see if app finds and connects to DMX device.
Still not connecting?
Double click home button on the IPad
swipe up to close Lightrider App from screen to force quit it
Go into settings on the iPad → Connections → WIFI
The IPad should be connected to the device named Smart Dmx Interface (Not the wifi router)
Ipad is not connected to the Device?
Plug out power cable from the device and wait 10 sec.
Plug in power cable from the device and restart the app
If asked to Login click later
Chose a preset and wait a couple of sec.
After around 10 sec. lights should be good
If still not connecting repeat steps 1-6
❗RESTARTING THE DMX❗ (Light Rider Box)
To restart the DMX box pull the USB power supply out, wait a few seconds and then plug back in.
❗TUNRING OFF THE LED'S❗
If you want to leave the power on you can just turn off the lights using the Ipad - From the presets in the light rider app along the bottom scroll accross and find 'Black Out'
❗SOUND ISSUES❗
Things to check:
Check AUX cable is connected to the Mac - unplug and replug to ensure connection.
If no sound just from Ableton check sound settings. Click Live (upper left corner) preferences/settings > audio > audio output live > change device in the dropdown to "External headphone output "
If sound is not working from laptop at all (check itunes browser etc) check below steps
Make sure mixer has power, Light on and cable secure in back, plugged into coach desk
Check that the Music Volume is turned up on Mac (Should always be on max) and Mixer volume knob.
Make sure headphones on the correct colour channel (Red)
Check Headphone Reciever box is on and on the correct channel. (Channel 1)
Ableton Sound Settings - Make sure correct audio output device selected.
❗MIXER INFO❗
Always check this box has power and the cables at the back are connected.
Make sure Mac is on full volume and just use these controls
The mic is very sensitive so try to find the level that works for you before your ride and avoid adjusting.
**Note if the mic is too low it is not audible and if too high it has metalic interference**
❗HEADPHONE SETTINGS❗
How to sound check with headphones:
Turn the headphones on using the power button on the right side.
Change the channel using the channel button on the left side until the LED's are- Red
Place the headphones on the correct way (each side labelled L & R)
Turn the volume up to max using the volume control behind the right ear.
Play music from the laptop and do a sound check with headphones to find max volume.
If you do not hear any music, check Headphone transmitter is turned on and on correct channel (Channel 1 )
Check sound output on the Mac is set to headphones.
If no sound only from Ableton make sure output settings are also set to external headphones. (See sound troubleshooting points above)
